INPUTMAPPER DS4 FLASHING BLUE LIGHT PC
Not sure why but now it works in rocket league! I'll see what happens when I turn off my PC tonight and start it back up again later, maybe I'll have to fiddle around again. I had to make sure there was no controller emulation enabled in steam and then for some reason it only worked if I plugged in the adapter after starting steam.

Ok, before you try anything else, I know this will sound counter intuitive, but install, run, and work around DS4Win or InputMapper with your DS4 and then try to play again, with a restart and all, without having any of the software on.Īlso once I paired it successfully it wasn't working in rocket league.
INPUTMAPPER DS4 FLASHING BLUE LIGHT INSTALL
I don't have any other controller emulation software and this is a relatively clean install of windows.

I've tried rebooting the PC with steam not started and the USB controller plugged in and pairing using the sequence you described PS button then dongle. Get back to me after you've tried a bit of everything! Still not working for me sadly. I would also advise you to check Steam's controller option and unmark all controller emulation it might offer. The dongle does work as intended, but it is not perfect in the sense that it might have a few issues like the aforementioned. Now, as someone else said, the reason we bought the dongle is because you don't want another piece of software doing the emulation for your controller, that's the dongle's job from now on. I also noticed in Rocket League that after I paired the dongle and the DS4, it took like a minute or two to start responding in game I only figured this out one day when I started the game, it was not responsive, I got mad, I stood up to go get a glass of water and let some steam off, and then got back. Now, what I noticed is that I always start the pairing from the DS4 and then press the dongle's pairing button.Īfter at most 3 seconds, the DS4 vibrates and the connection is on.

After an update on the dongle's firmware, and I think a steam one too, I never had that again. Steam used to lag horribly - not a particular game, the platform itself if I tried to plug it in after starting steam, or if I used a mapping and controller emulator, again, after starting steam. I found out that the dongle in my case at least must be at all times on the PC. I push the pair button, see the rapid blinking orange light, hold down the PS button and the controller just times out. Hey mate did you ever get your DS4 working on PC with the 8bitdo dongle? Mine just arrived and I can't even get it to pair with the controller. It allows you to keep away from installing and running yet another piece of software.

The problem seems to be to such an extent that not even the third party software recognizes the controller when it's wireless The whole point of using the Adapter is that you dont have to use Inputmapper, the adapter does what Inputmapper is suppose, to but on a hardware level. The dongle and the DS4 connect, but the games on Steam don't recognize a controller. I have tried everything to connect my 8bitdo dongle with my DS4 and make them work with the help of third-party software of course both InputMapper and xcebut to no avail so far.
